Agency extends IT deal

Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency has granted an IT solutions company a 10-year extension to its deal to manage systems that process about 60 million vehicle transactions every year.

Unisys Corporation will continue to handle the agency’s IT infrastructure, which also supports the processing of driver’s licences.

It has worked with Waka Kotahi for nearly 30 years providing computing solutions that support the Registry Suite, a group of systems for vehicle and driver safety programmes through which agents, commercial customers and the public interact with the agency.

Under the contract extension,  Unisys will provide application services to support the suite. It will also transition the supporting infrastructure from Unisys’ facilities to two All of Government (AoG) co-located facilities providing Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), which Unisys will manage.
