A man has been released from hospital after an incident at VINZ’s testing station near Christchurch Airport.

The accident, which took place at about 9.30am on July 9, occurred when a COF-B certification of fitness inspection was being carried out on a truck.

Autofile understands the client sustained an injury to his hand while something was being demonstrated to him. He was treated on-site by paramedics before being taken to hospital and has since been discharged.

WorkSafe NZ has been informed of the accident and is now investigating what took place, while an internal investigation by VINZ is also under way.

Gordon Shaw, director of VINZ, says: “Sean Stevens, our chief executive officer, is on-site to provide support to our team and our customer.”
