Marque reaches 100 million

Hyundai Motor Company celebrated a significant milestone this week by chalking up 100 million units of global cumulative production.

The achievement has been accomplished in 57 years since the company’s foundation, making it one of the fastest in the industry.

To mark the occasion, Hyundai Motor held a ceremony at its Ulsan Plant in South Korea and delivered its 100 millionth and first vehicle, an Ioniq 5, directly to a customer.

The vehicle rolled off the final inspection conveyor belt at the plant’s shipping centre during a special handover ceremony.

“Reaching 100m vehicles was possible thanks to our customers around the world who have supported Hyundai Motor since the beginning,” says Jaehoon Chang, company president and chief executive officer.

“Taking on bold challenges and being in constant pursuit of innovation has enabled us to achieve rapid growth. This will empower us to take ‘one step further toward another 100m units as a mobility game-changer.”

The achievement follows Hyundai Motor’s continuous growth, which has been fuelled by launching premium brand Genesis, the high-performance brand N and introducing fully electric models on a dedicated global modular platform.
