Volvo partners Masters Games

Volvo Cars New Zealand will be the official vehicle partner to the World Masters Games 2017 – this country’s biggest sporting event in a decade. The event, which runs from April 21-30, 2017, will see 25,000 athletes from 100 countries come to Auckland to compete in 28 sports at 45 venues. “Volvo Cars has an extensive portfolio of partnerships and is passionate about sport,” says Jennah Wootten, chief executive of the World Masters Games 2017’s local organising committee. “We’re privileged to be part of its stable and value the experience it has gained in supporting some of the world’s premier sporting events.” Steve Kenchington, general manager of Volvo Cars NZ, says the marque is committed to New Zealand and has invested in the vision of making the ninth edition of the games the “best ever”. “It’s about expanding our role as a supporter of major events, which bring both economic and social benefit to our country,” he adds. “We want to assist in maximising awareness of the event at home and on the world stage.”
