New CEO for VINZ

Gordon Shaw has been appointed as the permanent chief executive officer of Vehicle Inspection NZ (VINZ) after holding the position on an interim basis since last year’s departure of Frank Willett. “The board is pleased to confirm the appointment of Gordon,” says directors Damon Jackson and Euan Philpot. “We are looking forward to continuing to work closely with Gordon and the senior leadership team as the business enters a significant growth and development phase in 2015.” Shaw’s appointment took effect from January 5. He previously held a senior management position in the government sector before starting a career as an independent consultant. Shaw also completed assignments in the regulatory inspection sector and used to be a senior manager with the NZTA, which was formerly the Land Transport Safety Authority.
