Variety teams helps out kids

Unique vehicles are hitting the road in March for the Variety Bash, with the GT Radial tyres team putting its trusty limo on the road again to be captained by Ewen “The Westie” Gilmour. The annual event is a fundraiser for the Variety – The Children’s Charity, which helps disadvantaged Kiwi youngsters. Vehicles will hit the road on March 15 and travel around the central North Island and East Cape. The GT Limo team has put a number of items on Trade Me to help raise money for the charity. Gilmour is a registered marriage and civil union celebrant, and is auctioning off his services. “It would be fair to say I’m the country’s most widely recognised marriage celebrant, so a wedding with me certainly can be a wedding with a difference,” he says. Some of the other items up for auction include a set of brand new GT Radial passenger tyres and the opportunity for your car to feature in print in NZ Petrolhead Magazine or the NZ Herald’s Driven section. Gilmour is also donating a show to the auction effort. “It could be a show just for yourself and your special someone, a work social club event or after-dinner comedian.” View all of the listings here.
