Ute to boast elite features

LDV has announced its Terron 9 will be available in the Elite specification when it hits New Zealand showrooms and will have a recommended price tag of $59,990, excluding on-road costs.
Powered by a 2.5-litre, turbo-diesel engine producing 163.5kW of power and 520Nm of torque, the ute also has a braked towing capacity of up to 3,500kg.
The 4WD workhorse is equipped with multiple terrain modes and off-road information includes altitude, compass and approach angle.
Another feature of the Terron 9 Elite is a wading sensor to help drivers calculate the depth while driving through water.
The model, which is now available for pre-order, boasts a payload of 1,100kg and a spray-on tray liner with four fixed tie-down points.
The Elite specification also includes high-grade cloth seat covers, a six-way powered driver’s seat and a four-way manual adjustable passenger seat.
Technology features include a 360-degree camera, daytime running lights, a dual 12.3-inch infotainment screen and instrument cluster and Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
As for safety, lane keep assist, speed limit recognition and blind spot monitoring system are all standard.
Kym Mellow, general manager of Inchcape New Zealand, which distributes LDV here, announced pricing for the LDV Terron Elite model during Fieldays, near Hamilton, this month.
“This Terron 9 ute is the ultimate reinforcement of LDV’s brand DNA, in that it aims to be dependable, durable and value-packed with up to 1,100kg payload and exceptional off-road capability thanks to its double-wishbone suspension up front and sturdy leaf-spring suspension in the rear,” he says.
