Ute auction to boost charity

Auto Trader NZ has partnered with BYD to auction a Shark 6 featuring nearly $40,000 in upgrades and accessories with all proceeds going to a good cause.

Running until June 21, the online sale of the ute will help the vital work Hato Hone St John does in communities across the country.

The fundraiser is being run as part of Auto Trader launching an online auctions feature. It allows buyers to place bids, use auto-bidding, create watch lists and track auction end times while giving sellers a flexible way to showcase vehicles.

“St John is there on the worst days of people’s lives and what they do matters deeply to every New Zealander,” says Warren Willmot, general manager at BYD NZ.

“The work they do is critical, and the infrastructure they need to keep doing it deserves our full support. We’re proud to contribute in a meaningful way and hope this auction inspires all Kiwis to get behind a cause that, one day, could make all the difference for someone they love.”

The plug-in hybrid Shark 6 has been fitted with a premium package including 18-inch Enkei Trail-Cross wheels with Toyo Open Country all-terrains, a Napier-built M2 Overland Artemis wellside canopy system, a Carryboy drawer system with a 250kg-rated slide-out platform, a TransNet 7.4kW type-two home charger, $1,000 ChargeNet public-charging credit and a two-year road-user changes subscription through EROAD.

“Auctions are a natural next step for us,” says Dan Michelle, general manager at Auto Trader NZ.

“Buying a car is a big deal. We know buyers want confidence, choice and value when searching for their next vehicle. Sellers want efficient ways to reach serious buyers.

“Launching with the BYD team and supporting St John makes this a meaningful moment for us.” Click here to bid on the Shark.
