Import market grows

Sales of used imported cars continued to boom with 13,891 sales in July, which was up by 15.3 per cent on July 2014’s figure of 12,042. The year-to-date total now comes to 84,435. Toyota was number one for sales in this segment, accounting for 3,152 units. It was followed by Nissan on 2,453. Mazda came third on 2,219 while Honda secured fourth on 1,422. Suzuki rounded out the top five on 850 units. The Suzuki Swift was the top-selling model with 706 registrations. Nissan’s Tiida netted 647, followed by the Mazda Axela on 621, the Demio on 559 and Honda’s Fit on 521.
