Under hammer for Variety

Ford New Zealand is to auction an FPV GT F. Only 50 of the Falcons were built for sale here and the last one is up for auction on Trade Me from February 16 for two weeks. A portion of the proceeds from the sales will go to the marque’s charity partner of 25 years, Variety – the Children’s Charity. The F pays tribute to the Falcon GT lineage, which began in 1967. Today, it’s one the most iconic of all Australian-built performance cars and the GT F seen as a fitting celebration to the model. “The Falcon has been part of New Zealand life for half a century and this last GT F is a slice of automotive history,” says Corey Holter, managing director of Ford NZ. “Being number 50 of only 50, it’s highly collectible. Not only will it be a high-performance vehicle that’s fantastic to drive, it will also make a fine addition to any enthusiast’s collection. We are happy to be able to donate part of the proceeds to Variety.” Darren Wiltshire, head of Trade Me Motors, says: “We’re looking forward to helping out with the auction for this beast. We know lots of Kiwis love their Fords and will get excited when they spot this one. We reckon this will be one of the most popular vehicle auctions on the site so far this year.”
