Two all-electric variants

Subaru NZ says it has listened to customer feedback to expand its fully electric Trailseeker range to two variants.

The AWD will launch here alongside the top-of-the-range AWD Touring with prices starting from $68,990 and $72,490 respectively plus on-roads.

They boast a 74.7kWh CATL lithium-ion battery and a 150kW DC fast-charging from 10-80 per cent in approximately 30 minutes.

Built on the e-Subaru Global Platform with symmetrical all-wheel drive, they have dual-mode x-mode with grip-control function and 211mm of ground clearance.

Advanced infotainment and connectivity are led by a responsive 14-inch high-definition touchscreen, there’s a seven-inch LCD multi-information display, digital rear-view mirror and dual Qi wireless chargers. Subaru Safety Sense, driver-monitor system and full vision-assist suite come as standard.

As Subaru NZ’s debut sport electric vehicle, the expanded Trailseeker range brings together all-electric performance, all-terrain capability and everyday adventure-ready practicality.

With stock arriving in October, it will be the brand’s fastest production vehicle ever sold here, delivering 280kW of combined power and a 0-100kph time of around 4.5 seconds.

“Kiwis asked for more options and we listened, so we are delighted to be bringing in two Trailseeker variants,” says Paul Mallard, general manager of Inchcape NZ.

“It is a real coup for us to be receiving the Trailseeker AWD, with up to 533km of WLTP range and a strong price point, especially compared with competitors’ EVs. We expect it to be a popular choice.

“The Trailseeker’s appeal is already evident as its first allocation officially sold out in New Zealand ahead of confirmed local pricing. This response highlights the excitement and confidence customers have in the next evolution of performance and electrification.

“It may be the fastest Subaru ever introduced in New Zealand, but what excites us most isn’t the headline figure, it’s what that capability enables. It’s a vehicle that encourages you to say yes to the detour, weekend away or road you’ve never taken before.”

The lithium-ion battery provides a WLTP test range up to 533km. Its dual electric motors produce 280kW combined, it has up to 150kW DC fast-charging input and comes with a 2kW AC charging cable with 10-amp wall plug.

Its 18-inch alloys have wheel caps, there’s synthetic leather seat trim, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a six-speaker audio system, digital rear-view mirror, eight-way power-adjustable driver and front passenger seats, and heated front and rear outboard seats.

The AWD’s other features include a heated steering wheel, multi-colour LED ambient lighting, dual-zone climate control with rear vents and dusk-sensing self-levelling LED headlights with auto-off.

The AWD Touring

It has a WLTP test range of up to 488km, 20-inch alloy wheels, leather-accented seat trim in blue and black, an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with dual memory, and ventilated front seats for the driver and front passenger.

There’s also driver seat and door-mirror memory settings, door mirror auto-dipping function, a panoramic glass roof with electric retractable sunshade, and advanced park assist with four panoramic view monitor cameras and 12 ultrasonic sensors.

The AWD Touring also has a premium 10-speaker Harman Kardon sound system with subwoofer and amplifier, and a vehicle-to-load 220V/1,500W power outlet.
