Trifecta for Toyota
First-time registrations of used-imported cars came in at 6,920 last month for a drop of 28.1 per cent compared to 9,630 in the same month of last year.
The top three models were the Toyotas. The Aqua topped the ladder with 658 and a market share of 9.5 per cent.
Next up were the Prius, pictured, on 390 and Corolla with 309 for 5.6 and 4.5 per cent shares of the market respectively. They were followed by Subaru’s Impreza with 283 and Honda’s Fit on 240.
Toyota clocked up 2,422 sales last month, which represented 35 per cent of the market.
It was followed by Nissan on 973 and 14.1 per cent, and Mazda with 11.8 per cent. Subaru and Honda completed the top five with 753 and 627 respectively.
Used commercials steady
Some 464 used-imported commercials were registered last month – the same as November 2023’s total. So far this year, 5,695 have crossed the border.
Toyota was the top marque with 214 registrations and a 46.1 market share. Its Hiace was the best-selling model on 160 units.
Nissan was second on both ladders. It notched up 76 units for a 16.4 per cent share of the market and 44 of its NV350s were registered.
