Tesla eyes new showroom
A new showroom for Tesla is reportedly close to reaching its fit-out stage and will be part of a mega-retail site being developed on Auckland’s northwestern outskirts.
The marque is due to move into premises at Westgate’s Maki Centre, pictured, which will add to the EV maker’s business in Mangere, South Auckland, reports the NZ Herald.
Tesla also previously had a showroom and service centre on Karangahape Rd, central Auckland, but closed it last year.
NZ Retail Property Group built the Maki Centre, where a number of specialised stores are under construction, and it is reportedly due for tenant handover at the end of February.
Westgate is a master-planned new town centre located 18km from Auckland’s CBD and 30km from Auckland Airport, reports the NZ Herald. Its total potential identified catchment is about 1.6 million people.
