Taking carpooling literally

The extraordinary vehicle in the video below was put together by a pair of American engineers who created a car that is also fully functional as a spa and was fittingly named Carpool DeVille.
Duncan Forster and Phil Weicker used a 1969 Cadillac Coupe DeVille as the base of the project after an earlier prototype was made from a 1982 Chevy Malibu.
It took them six years to create their Cadillac version of a car-hot tub hybrid, which boasts a range of features.
One of the most notable adaptions they made to the vehicle was upgrading the alternator to deliver the power needed to operate the hot tub-related accessories.
Forster and Weicker also decided to see how fast they could go in the Carpool DeVille and in August 2014 took their creation to the famous salt flats in Bonneville, Utah.
Unfortunately, their attempt to set a record for the world’s fastest hot tub didn't go to plan after the time trial event was cancelled because of water on the course. However, the duo decided to stage their own unofficial run on a patch of dry ground and achieved a top speed of 80kph (50mph).
