Super Duty set for 2026
Ford says the Ranger Super Duty will deliver next level work-ready capability to serve the “toughest” customers when it arrives in 2026.
The result of collaboration with fleet customers, the new mid-size truck “can do things no other mid-size truck can do”.
It has been engineered and designed to deliver the higher levels of gross vehicle mass (GVM), gross combined mass (GCM), towing and enhanced off-road capability required by those who need it.
Annaliese Atina, managing director of Ford NZ, says: “The Ranger Super Duty further strengthens our commercial-vehicle portfolio with an offering for all kinds of work.
“As we move closer to launch, we will continue to work closely with fleets and vehicle upfitters across the country to be sure that it does everything they expect it to, and so much more.”
Tom Clancy, communications manager, adds: “This is the first time the Super Duty’ name has been used on a non-F-Series vehicle.
“It has been specially engineered and designed by our friends at Ford Australia to support the needs of heavy-duty fleet customers who need higher levels of payload, towing and off-road capability.
“In New Zealand that means emergency services, infrastructure operators, agriculture and forestry just to name a few. It will also answer the call for various lifestyle applications – big trailer boats, horse floats and more.”

The new model was developed by Ford’s IMG product development team led by a 1,500-strong group of designers, engineers and specialists in Australia. It will be manufactured in Thailand for sale in markets around the world.
Compared to other mid-sized trucks, the Ranger Super Duty has a 4,500kg maximum braked-towing capacity, can carry more thanks to its 4,500kg GVM and has a GCM of 8,000kg.
