”Significant damage” to port

Autohub has confirmed that there is “significant damage” to port facilities in Japan caused by Typhoon Jebi – Japan’s worst storm in 25 years.

The main locations that appear to be affected the worst for our service are the ports of Kobe and Osaka says Autohub.

“We have been advised that our Japanese staff and families are all safe which is great news,” it says. “At this stage, we have received initial reports that there is significant damage to port facility infrastructure and vehicles within these port areas.

“Pre-export inspection services have been significantly interrupted. We are waiting to receive more detailed reports on the extent of damage and how long they may take to return to ‘normal’ service. Given initial damage reports, we anticipate significant disruption to our shipping services at this time for the month of September.”
