Servicing fleet’s older cars
Two dealerships in Auckland are now offering Toyota’s new Service 10+ packages, which have been tailored for vehicles more than 10 years old.
It’s aimed at giving owners of vehicles more than a decade old access to expert servicing at a price that better reflects the age of their car.
As cost-of-living pressures continue to bite, more drivers are holding onto older models for longer and relying on them for everything from work commutes to school drop-offs.
The initiative comes as New Zealand’s fleet continues to age with the average car now around 15.8 years, which making reliable and cost-effective maintenance more important than ever.
North Shore Toyota in Wairau Valley, and North Western Toyota, Henderson, are now providing the new servicing offer designed for older models.
Mark Jago, chief executive officer of North Shore Toyota, says the shift towards keeping older cars on the road longer is something they are seeing every day.
“More locals are doing what they can to make ends meet,” he adds. “For many households, replacing a vehicle just isn’t realistic right now, so keeping the one they have safe and reliable is the priority.
“Service 10+ is about meeting that need. It gives people confidence their car is being looked after properly without paying for things that don’t make sense for an older vehicle.”
Unlike standard servicing, Toyota Service 10+ has been designed with older cars in mind by offering transparent and simplified pricing, advice if repairs are needed, safety checks and inspections, and work carried out by technicians trained by the marque using genuine parts.
It’s available to all eligible Toyotas regardless of where they were purchased or previously serviced removing a “key barrier” for drivers who may not have returned to one of the marque’s stores in years.
Jago adds: “You’re getting trained technicians who know the vehicle and a service that’s been designed around what your car needs at this stage of its life – nothing more and nothing less.”
