Kia New Zealand has announced the arrival of the new EV4 at its dealerships, with the electric sedan available in a Light 2WD Long Range or a higher-specification GT-Line 2WD Long Range.

It is the most aerodynamic car built by Kia and the fifth battery electric vehicle in the marque’s portfolio, boasting a driving range of up to 633km under WLTP.

Todd McDonald, managing director of Kia New Zealand, says: “The Kia EV4 is another progressive expression of Kia’s design ethos ‘Opposites United’ and is a unique addition to our impressive EV range.

“Drawing on the award-winning features of its recently launched cousin, the EV3, the new fastback provides customers with the technology they’ve come to expect from a Kia EV in a forward-thinking and expressive design.

“At the time of launching EV3, its range was and is industry-leading in New Zealand, tackling range anxiety head-on and providing a solution. The EV4 further builds off this range, showcasing our innovation as a brand.”

The EV4’s power and torque is 150kW and 283Nm respectively, battery capacity is 81.4kWh and the battery can be boosted from 10 per cent to 80 per cent in 31 minutes when using a DC Ultra-Fast charger.

It also features a digital, 29.6-inch panoramic display, Kia’s latest suspension technology, Kia Connect functionality, over-the-air updates and a range of advanced driver assistance systems.

The Light 2WD Long Range package boasts forward collision-avoidance assist, lane keeping assist, lane follow assist, smart cruise control with stop and go, and rear view monitor with dynamic guidelines.

Additional features for the GT-Line 2WD Long Range include a full-colour, head-up display, heated and ventilated front seats, heated steering wheel, power sunroof with one-touch tilting and sliding function, power tailgate and GT-Line exclusive 19-inch alloy wheels.

“We are excited to introduce the EV4 as part of our EV line-up here in New Zealand,” adds McDonald.

“It offers an innovative design, comfort, refinement and an unheralded range with practicality and versatility.”

Pricing starts at $63,990 plus on-road costs (ORC) for the Light 2WD Long Range and $75,990 plus ORC for the GT-Line 2WD Long Range.
