Salesman victim of carjacking
A Hamilton car salesman was left “very shaken” after becoming the victim of a carjacking during a test drive by a prospective buyer.
The incident happened after a man enquired about a $16,000 to $17,000 Nissan Skyline at Cheap Deals on Wheels on Avalon Drive, reports the Waikato Times.
Vishaal Sharma, director of the company, told the newspaper that the suspect threatened and physically assaulted the salesman during a test drive in the vehicle on Monday, September 11.
The salesman was reportedly forced out of the car on Walker Terrace, Nawton, before the offender drove off.
Sharma told the Waikato Times his employee was “very shaken up” and had a sore arm where the man had grabbed it, “but the main thing is he’s okay … his life is worth more than a car”.
A police search had yet to find the stolen Skyline.
