Refresh for ‘consistent performer’
Kia’s refreshed Seltos is now available at its 33 authorised dealers nationwide with a reimagined exterior complemented with enhancements to its cabin and technology systems.
“In three years since launch, more than 7,000 new Seltos have found homes around the country,” says Todd McDonald, managing director of Kia NZ. “It has proven to be a consistent performer in the sales charts and one of the most popular small to medium-sized SUV models over recent years.
“The design of the 2023 model – together with an attractive price point as well as five-year warranty and five year/100,000km roadside-assistance package – means it’s a compelling proposition for new-car buyers who want to live big but drive a medium-size vehicle.”
The Seltos will initially be available in two specification levels, the LX and LX+, with other trim options arriving in the second quarter of this year.
Updates compared to the previous LX model include the restyled front end and rear garnish, new tail-lights, privacy glass, front parking sensors and lane-follow assist (LFA).
The LFA system detects the lane that the car is in and informs the driver with a visual cue and warning sound when it begins to drift outside of it, enabling the motorist to correct the direction of travel.
Rounding out the changes are intelligent and manual speed-limit assist, rear-view monitor with switch and a new 4.2-inch TFT LCD supervision cluster.
The LX+ also boasts new 17-inch alloys, single-zone climate control, three extra USB-C charging ports, a full-size spare wheel, solar windshield and front-door glass.
Power in the LX and LX+ is provided by a two-litre petrol engine. It develops a steady 110kW and fuel efficiency of 7.7l/100km, “making it a great option for new owners who aren’t quite ready to make the change to electrification”.
The Seltos is the beneficiary of an extensive ride and handling tuning programme undertaken in Australasia over thousands of kilometres across urban and country roads. This delivers “exceptional” handling with comfort and assured road-holding for local conditions.
The model-year 2023 Seltos is available in seven different exterior colours. The LX is priced from $32,990 and the LX+ from $35,990, including GST plus on-roads.
