Ranger top for sales
There were 4,445 new commercials registered last month, which was down 13.1 per cent when compared with 5,116 in November 2021.
Ford’s Ranger, pictured, was the top model with 1,527 units, only 0.4 per cent fewer than the 1,533 units in the same month a year ago. It also had a market share of 34.4 per cent.
Next on the models’ ladder was the Toyota Hilux with 925 registrations, up 39.5 per cent from 663 units in November last year, and a 20.8 per cent share. Mitsubishi’s Triton was third with 313, a 2.2 per cent drop from 320.
The Ranger is top of the year-to-date figures with 10,464 registrations and a 23.2 per cent share of the market.
Next is the Hilux on 9,178 and 20.3 per cent, and the Triton on 5,859 units and 13 per cent.
On the marques’ ladder, Ford led the way in November with 1,572 registrations, down 2.4 per cent from 1,611 units a year ago, and a market share of 35.4 per cent.
Toyota was next with 1,055 registrations last month, which was 5.7 per cent more than a year ago, while Mitsubishi was third on 333.
It is a tight battle at the top of the year-to-date figures with Toyota just ahead on 10,983 registrations and a market share of 24.3 per cent, and Ford with 10,884 and 24.1 per cent. Mitsubishi is third on 6,342 and 14 per cent.
Used market tumbles
As for used-imported commercials, there were 535 registered in November compared with 743 in the same month last year for a drop of 28 per cent.
Toyota’s Hiace was the leading model on 128 registrations, down 32.3 per cent from 189 registrations a year ago, and a market share of 23.9 per cent.
The Nissan NV350 was next on 65, which was 22.6 per cent fewer than 84 units over the same period, and the Hino Dutro was third with 39 registrations.
The Hiace is the leading model year to date with 1,835 sales and a 25.7 per cent market share, with the Nissan NV350 second on 1,073 units and 15.1 per cent.
Toyota was the top marque last month with 193 registrations, but that figure was 27.4 per cent lower than 266 a year ago. Nissan was next on 117 units and Hino on 51.
Year to date, Toyota has 2,577 registrations and a 36.2 per cent market share, Nissan has 1,781 and 25 per cent, and Hino is third on 618 and 8.7 per cent.
