Pushing the boundaries

Lexus will exhibit at the first-ever Japan Mobility Show from October 26 to November 5 under the theme of “discover a future you can’t wait to navigate”.

The theme for the marque’s booth will be “pushing the boundaries of the electrified experience” and it will unveil a next-generation battery EV slated to be introduced globally in 2026.

Additionally, a new line-up of BEV concepts will be revealed with the aim of transforming the company by offering more fully electric products.

The Lexus booth will also express the brand’s desire to achieve a carbon-neutral society by using bamboo material throughout the display, combining traditional Japanese beauty with environmentally friendly, sustainable and functional elements.

Andrew Davis, Lexus NZ’s vice-president, says it’s an exciting time for the future of its BEVs as the marque continues its electrification journey.

“The uptake of EVs is continuing to accelerate with luxury car buyers looking to sustainable EVs that fit their lifestyles,” he adds.

“Ninety per cent of our cars sold in New Zealand this year have been electrified as either hybrid, plug-in hybrid or BEV. We will continue to accelerate our carbon-reduction journey as more models and options become available.

“New designs, in-car experiences and an even higher level of sustainable craftsmanship make for an exciting time for Lexus. I’m looking forwarding to seeing the new concepts released at the Japan Mobility Show.”

In addition, a virtual-reality simulator will provide a futuristic driving experience tailored for each customer, which will be achieved through the adoption of electrification and intelligent technology.
