Product stewardship roadshows
The organisers behind a product stewardship scheme that collects and destroys synthetic refrigerants across New Zealand are embarking on a series of roadshows this month to help spread the word about what they do.
The events run by Cool-Safe have been flagged by the Imported Motor Vehicle Industry Association (VIA) in an email alert to members asking if they have cars with air-conditioning, if they need to get air-con systems fixed, or do such work themselves.
“[If so] then you need to make sure you are compliant with refrigerant recovery regulations – and you could make some money in the process,” the message adds.
“VIA has long been a proponent of waste recovery programmes like Tyrewise and Cool-Safe.
“Don’t miss out on this opportunity to improve your refrigerant recovery processes and stay ahead of regulatory requirements.”
The Cool-Safe roadshows kick-off in Wellington on October 22 and will provide an opportunity to learn about the latest updates in refrigerant recovery, including a buy-back programme for businesses and organisations.
Over the following two weeks other complimentary events are being held in Hastings, Auckland, Christchurch, Dunedin and Nelson.
Attendees will also be able to learn about other Cool-Safe programmes that support business operations to comply with environmental regulations and network with industry leaders.
