Luxury EV brand Arcfox, which is a subsidiary of BAIC, is set to enter the New Zealand market within the next 18 months.

Plans for the Chinese carmaker’s arrival have been announced by Auto Distribution Holdings, which is part of Armstrong Motor Group and the New Zealand distributor for BAIC models.

Simon Rutherford, chief executive officer of Auto Distribution Holdings Ltd, confirmed at BAIC’s recent launch in New Zealand that staff were working on when best to launch Arcfox here.

He says it could happen anywhere between the end of this year and early next year, reports Driven Car Guide, and adding the all-electric brand has been considered as part of BAIC dealer and distribution planning.

Arcfox, which was founded in 2017, is likely to launch in New Zealand with two models and a further three BAIC-branded vehicles are expected to hit the market in the next two years.
