Collecting Cars is celebrating another month of record auction sales across New Zealand and Australia after 115 lots sold for more than A$10.3 million (about NZ$12.5m) in February.
The total was up two per cent from the same month last year as the online auction platform for the sale of classic, performance and collectible cars reports a surge in demand so far this year from sellers and buyers.
Among the highlights last month were a 2024 Porsche 911 (992) GT3 RS with Weissach pack fetching A$680,000 and a 2024 Ferrari 296 GTS selling for A$595,000. In New Zealand, a 1980 Porsche 911 SC Targa, pictured, sold at auction for A$101,000.
Collecting Cars notes its heritage number plate auction in February also achieved sales of more than A$2m from 40 sold lots, with the highest price paid A$485,000.
