Dealership’s $14m refresh
Armstrong’s has officially opened its refurbished Wellington Porsche Centre after a multi-stage $14 million investment.
The transformation of the dealership on Cambridge Terrace has taken two-and-a-half years and it now boasts a state-of-the-art showroom and workshop.
Armstrong’s says the new facility has an improved layout and besides housing the latest Porsche models, there is also space to showcase special and rare vehicles.
A highlight of an opening celebration, attended by past and current Porsche customers, VIP guests, and members of the wider Armstrong’s team, was the display of a rare Porsche Carrera GT.
The refreshed workshop caters for a range of vehicles, from those with internal combustion engines to EVs and hybrids. It is equipped with special EV bays, in-ground hoists, and a bunker.
Troy Kennedy, Armstrong’s chief executive officer, was among those at the opening event in February, alongside the company’s founder Rick Armstrong and chairman Mark Darrow.
“Over the past three decades, Armstrong’s has pursued an organic growth strategy, building and diversifying a leading automotive brand portfolio, coupled with a strategic real estate portfolio across Dunedin, Wellington, Christchurch, and Auckland,” says Kennedy.
“Wellington has always been a cornerstone of our operations and remains central to our long-term plans.
“The new Porsche showroom and workshop are testament to this commitment, and we’ve had a fantastic team of local designers and builders involved, stimulating activity for a number of local businesses and some great people.”
