NZTA fuel statement issues
Since the requirement to include CO2 emissions of used vehicles entering the New Zealand fleet, there have been a number of issues printing fuel consumption statements from the Fuelsaver website.
According to VIA (the Imported Motor Vehicle Industry Association), the NZTA is working to fix the problem but is hampered by having to evacuate their Palmerston North office which includes their contact centre which is now operating at reduced capacity.
"If you have any queries or issues associated with the actions required to verify fuel consumption and CO2 information, please email fuelconsumption@nzta.govt.nz. Please do not phone the Contact Centre," said VIA in a statement.
"When you send the email, please provide as much detail as possible about the vehicle and the problem you are experiencing (screenshots are also helpful). NZTA will investigate the issue and get back to you with a solution as soon as they can."
If you are experiencing this issue, please provide the following information:
- A copy of the export certificate (i.e. Japanese deregistration document)
- Transmission type (CVT, AT, MT)
- Vehicle model name (e.g. Prius, Swift)
- Year of manufacture.
The transport agency will then check if they can source and enter the data for you so that you can proceed with certification.
For any questions, please contact VIA technical manager Malcolm Yorston on 0800 VIA VIA (842 842) or email technical@via.org.nz.
