NZ’s first electric ute to gain top rebate

LDV New Zealand has revealed the pricing and specification for its all-electric eT60 ute ahead of the vehicle going into right-hand-drive production from August.

The zero-emissions workhorse will be available as a single model with pricing set at $79,990 including GST and on-road costs, which means it will qualify for the clean car discount’s maximum rebate of $8,625.

No firm date has been set for delivery of the ute, but LDV says New Zealand will be among the first global markets to receive the vehicle.

It adds the eT60 will feature an 88.5kWh battery and a 130kW/310Nm rear-mounted electric motor offering a range of up to 325km and a top tow rating of 1,500kg.

Other specification details include a 10.25-inch touchscreen, leatherette seating, 17-inch alloy wheels and a 220V mains outlet.

Andrew Bayliss, LDV New Zealand’s general manager, says the eT60 will be able to meet the demands of most consumers who have previously driven petrol and diesel utes.

“Interest and orders have come from every sector of society, with private buyers, business owners, tradespeople, government departments and local bodies all eager to reduce their carbon footprint and drive an electric ute,” he adds.
