New leaders for Inchcape
Inchcape has announced a number of key leadership appointments as it seeks to achieve further growth in the New Zealand and Australian markets.
The company, which holds distribution rights for Subaru, LDV and KGM in New Zealand, says the changes took effect this month and aim to deepen OEM partnerships and deliver exceptional customer experiences through operational excellence and strategic transformation.
David Colusso has been appointed managing director of distribution, Inchcape Australasia, and will lead OEM engagement and strategic partnerships on both sides of the Tasman.
Inchcape says Colusso will leverage his extensive experience as finance director and managing director of operations in the new role.
“He played a pivotal role in securing distributorships with Deepal and Foton in Australia and has been instrumental in expanding Inchcape’s footprint in New Zealand,” it adds.
“David’s deep understanding of retail operations and brand stewardship, including Subaru, Peugeot and Citroen, positions him to drive distribution excellence – one of the core growth drivers of the company’s Accelerate+ strategy.”
Kym Mellow has become managing director of operations, Inchcape Australasia. He will oversee operations in New Zealand and Australia, focusing on network development, strategic partner growth, and optimisation of value-added services in finance and insurance, logistics and fulfilment.
“This appointment is a testament of his leadership in transforming Inchcape New Zealand during his recent secondment and his prior experience as franchise director for Inchcape’s pre-owned vehicle business,” says Inchcape.
The changes mean Jerry Delaney has been promoted to general manager, New Zealand, where he will focus on enhancing network capabilities and OEM and partner engagement.
The former head of distribution contributed significantly to market share growth for the business and now joins the Inchcape Australasia executive leadership team.
In a move to optimise logistics, Inchcape has integrated its operations into a multi-brand centre of excellence.
Darren Morgan has been appointed general manager of Inchcape Logistics and will lead Autonexus operations to deliver solutions that support Inchcape’s strategic partners.
Morgan has a background in service operations and OEM relationship management and was most recently franchise director in Queensland.
Blair Read, managing director of Inchcape Australasia, notes the appointments mark a significant milestone in the company’s Accelerate+ journey.
“David, Kym, Jerry, and Darren bring the leadership, expertise and drive needed to unlock new growth opportunities, strengthen our partnerships and deliver the exceptional customer experiences that define Inchcape,” he explains.
“Their elevation also reflects the depth of talent within our organisation and our commitment to developing leaders who can transform tomorrow, together.”
