New Ferrari boss for down under

Michele Comelli has been appointed as president of Ferrari Australasia with responsibility for the company’s operations, strategy and growth on both sides of the Tasman.
Comelli, pictured, who has worked for the company since 2004, takes more than 20 years of international experience into the role from general management, sales and marketing to product development.
His leadership roles have included head of Ferrari South Europe, senior sales manager in the US and head of international marketing based at Maranello headquarters.
Comelli’s technical and engineering background also includes contributions to Scuderia Ferrari Formula 1, where he was part of the constructors’ world championship-winning campaigns in 2007 and 2008.
He says: “Stepping into this role is a privilege and an exciting challenge. I look forward to building on the foundations set in place, strengthening our connection with clients, partners and fans in the region, and ensuring every experience we deliver reflects the spirit of the prancing horse.
“The Australasia region has one of the most vibrant and enthusiastic Ferrari communities in the world. Together with the talented team at Ferrari, we will continue to nurture our extraordinary community and write the next chapter of Ferrari’s legacy in Australia and New Zealand.”
Comelli succeeds Jan Hendrik Voss, who started in the position five years ago. He has a new role with Ferrari’s global operations as president of Ferrari Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
During Voss’ term in Australasia, milestones under his leadership include the launch of Casa Ferrari at the F1 Australian Grand Prix, the inaugural Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli Australasia championship and rolling out the world-first Ferrari Insurance programme.
