A number of marques are showing off their latest wares as the annual Fieldays event in Hamilton gets under way after a 17-month hiatus.

The four-day celebration of all things agricultural is expected to attract thousands of people to Mystery Creek after it opened on November 30.

The event, which has more than 1,000 exhibitors, was postponed from its usual June spot this year because of uncertainty created by the Covid-19 omicron outbreak.

Among the carmakers there are BYD Auto, Ford, GMSV, Hyundai, Isuzu, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Ssangyong and LDV.

Hyundai will give the 2023 Ioniq 6 its New Zealand debut at Fieldays, with visitors able to check out the vehicle known as an “electrified streamliner”. The four-door electric vehicle is set to go on sale next year and boasts a 614km range.

Other automotive-related companies in attendance include InsideOutRV, Zion Motorhomes, Mainfreight and truck business Hino Distributors.

Last year was the second largest Fieldays in its 53-year history, with 132,776 people attending over four days.
