New dealerships for brand
Kia New Zealand has announced two significant deals to bolster its presence on Auckland’s North Shore, and in Paeroa and across the wider Coromandel Peninsula.
The marque hopes to accelerate its growth on the North Shore, which it describes as one of Auckland's most significant automotive growth markets, after signing a strategic partnership with Ingham Group.
It adds Ingham Group is already a successful Kia partner through its Taupo dealership and brings proven experience with the brand, a deep understanding of customer needs and a shared vision for future growth.
The new Kia North Shore site at 182 Target Rd is set to be fully operational from October 19. To support the opening, the dealership will have first views of the next-generation Seltos, followed later this year by the PV5 Passenger electric van.
Todd McDonald, Kia NZ managing director, says the appointment Group represents an exciting opportunity for both organisations.
“The North Shore represents one of the most dynamic automotive markets in New Zealand, with a strong customer base and significant opportunities for future growth,” he explains.
“We wanted a partner that shares our ambition for the region and has the capability to grow the brand further.
“There was significant interest from well-established automotive retailers and I’m delighted to announce the new partner is Ingham Group.
“They have a clear belief in the future of Kia and enthusiasm for the opportunities that exist on the North Shore.”
Trent Ingham, Ingham Group chief executive, says the move is an opportunity to build on its partnership with the marque and has created new jobs at its North Shore site.
“Kia is entering one of the most exciting periods in its history. With strong momentum across the model range and growing demand from New Zealand customers, it is important that we continue to build the strength of the brand in the region, as well as elevate it,” he adds.
“I am confident the team we have are ready to meet our customers’ expectations and provide a high ownership experience.”
Generational stability
Kia NZ is also marking a new chapter for the brand in Paeroa after welcoming Brian Tunnicliffe Motor Group, a family-owned business of 35 years, to its network.
The new Kia Paeroa dealership will be led by general manager Nicole Tunnicliffe, pictured below, with Mark Wilkin appointed dealer principal.
Kia NZ says the appointment brings generational stability, deep local knowledge and a long-term commitment to customers throughout Paeroa, the Coromandel Peninsula and the wider Hauraki region.
