Moving with the times

MOVE Logistics Group has appointed industry expert Craig Evans as its chief executive officer. 

Evans, who started in the role on February 1, has had a “stellar career” in the industry, including 35 years at Mainfreight with the past six as its New Zealand country manager. Before that, he was with Freightways for four years.

“Craig was a standout candidate for the role,” says Lorraine Witten, chair of MOVE. “He has an in-depth knowledge and successful track record in logistics, and is a proven leader and team builder. 

“We have undergone transformation over the past year. Craig’s energy and expertise are a welcome addition for the next phase as we continue to strengthen the business’ foundation and advance growth into existing and new opportunities.”

Following a transition period, executive director Chris Dunphy will step back from the day-to-day management of the business, but he will remain an active board member.
