Medium SUVs lead the way
Motor Industry Association statistics show two SUV segments taking out first and second place for sales.

Medium-sized SUVs make up the biggest segment of new-vehicle sales so far this year.
By the end of October, they accounted for 28,663 registrations – up from 21,621 by the same time in 2021.
Next up are small SUVs on 24,632, although that’s down from 29,536 when compared to the end of October last year.
The pick-up/chassis cab four-by-four segment remains strong despite the clean car discount with year-to-date figures of 19,484 last month – down from 19,692.
Sales of light cars lead the way in the passenger-vehicle segment on 8,654 units, according to Motor Industry Association statistics. By the end of October last year, they came in with 7,435 registrations.
