McCullough wins gold

Dylan McCullough has won New Zealand's first gold medal at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires.

Dylan, the youngest son of Marty McCullough - director of Dolphin Shipping, won the men’s triathlon in a time of 53:27, just 12 seconds in front of Italy's Alessio Crociani, a further 12 seconds back was third-placed Alexandre Monties of Portugal.

"It was a very special feeling crossing the line today," McCullough said after the race. "I didn't look back the whole run."

McCullough has little time to rest before teaming up with Brea Roderick for the Oceania team in the mixed relay on Thursday.
