Marque welcomes updated SUV

Mercedes-Benz New Zealand has expanded its line-up of mid-size SUVs with the addition of the all new GLC 200 4MATIC.

The model is available here with all-wheel drive for the first time and it also features a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that produces up to 150kW of power and 320Nm of torque.

Standard specification includes a panoramic sunroof, privacy glass, heated front seats with memory function, head-up display, and a parking package with a 360-degree camera.

The new variant offers a list of standard features similar to the GLC 300 4MATIC SUV and has 19-inch, 10-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels painted in tremolite grey with a high-sheen finish

Other exterior features on the new GLC 200 4MATIC are aluminium-look running boards with rubber studs and LED high-performance headlamps with adaptive high-beam assist.

Inside the SUV are front comfort seats providing four-way lumbar support, smartphone integration through Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto, and Thermatic two-zone climate control.

Luggage capacity measures 620 litres, while on the safety front the vehicle is equipped with nine airbags and state-of-the-art driver assistance technology.

A 48-volt electrical system and a second-generation integrated starter generator (ISG) help enhance engine performance at low RPMs.

The 48-volt system enables functions such as gliding, boost, and recuperation, contributing to a tested combined consumption of approximately 7.5L/100km based on the NEDC test cycle.

The ISG adds up to 17kW and 205Nm to the engine’s standard output and contributes to quicker, quieter engine restarts.

The four-cylinder engine is paired with a 9G-Tronic automatic transmission and 4MATIC all-wheel drive, which allows the GLC 200 to accelerate from 0-100kph in around 7.8 seconds.

Personalisation options around upholstery and paint finishes are available and the plus package includes features such as heat and noise-insulating glass and a Burmester 3D surround sound system.

Meanwhile, the sport package includes 20-inch AMG multi-spoke light-alloy wheels painted black in high sheen finish, sporty engine sound and anthracite linestructure lime wood trim on the dash.
