Marque secures Grand Designs

Lexus NZ has signed on as sponsor of Grand Designs New Zealand and has brought the television show’s presenter, Tom Webster, on-board as a brand ambassador.
Vice-president Andrew Davis says the programme has been broadcasting the ups and downs of people pursuing their dream builds to audiences for eight seasons.
“We’re excited for the ninth season and to be involved as show partner to celebrate brave Kiwis realising their dreams.”
Lexus NZ’s support goes beyond the broadcast package. The battery-electric RZ 450e will feature on the show along with the marque’s other models as Webster travels around the country.
Webster, pictured, has been presenting Grand Designs NZ since 2022. He also runs an Auckland-based architectural practice with his wife, which focuses on bespoke residential projects.
“Coincidentally, I’m also a qualified car designer,” he says. “So, the triangular connection between Lexus, Grand Designs and me fits like glove or, to be more apt, like a hand-stitched Lexus driving glove.
“I’m not only looking forward to bringing the next collection of amazing design projects to the screen but also working with Lexus and its community activities, such as the Lexus Design Award, which are currently under way.”
Teaming up with Grand Designs NZ adds to the portfolio of projects Lexus is supporting, such as Sachie Nomura’s Sachie’s Kitchen and Ben Bayly’s New Zealand Food Story.
It also supports community arts, design and sporting events to connect the brand with customers and the design community, and being a supporter of scientific research.
These include the Lexus Song Quest, Lexus Design Award – supporting student designers, the Malaghan Institute of Medical Research, Lexus Urban Polo, Icehouse Ventures Showcase and the ASB Classic tennis tournament.
