Marque refines Navara line-up
Nissan NZ has announced pricing and specifications for the new Navara ahead of its arrival in showrooms next month.
The fifth-generation Navara (D27) will be available in four grades with suggested retail prices starting at $54,690 plus on-road costs for the SL.
The new range comprises four grades – the SL, ST, ST-X and PRO-4X – all available exclusively as four-wheel-drive (4WD) dual-cab pick-ups with automatic transmissions.
The marque has refined the line-up based on customer preferences with more than 90 per cent of outgoing D23 buyers selecting this body style and transmission combination.
The SL – from $54,690
Standard equipment with the entry-level model includes an electronic-locking rear differential for enhanced traction, LED headlamps and tail-lamps, a seven-inch instrument cluster display, nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system with DAB+ digital radio, and wired Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay connectivity.
The SL rides on 17-inch steel wheels with 265/65R17 all-terrain and comes with an “easy select” 4WD system with dual-range transfer case allowing drivers to select between 2H, 4H, and 4L modes. Buyers can select optional Premcar-tuned suspension.
Advanced drive-assistance systems (ADAS) include autonomous emergency braking, lane-departure warning with emergency-lane assist, blind-spot warning, intelligent around view monitor with moving object detection, and front and rear-cross traffic alert.
The SL’s seats are trimmed in cloth with silver stitching that provides a durable cabin environment suited to work applications.
The ST – from $57,690
The Navara ST’s additions include LED front fog lamps, 17-inch alloys in silver finish, standard Premcar suspension, heated exterior mirrors with integrated indicators and power-folding function, a leather-accented steering wheel with silver inserts and auto-dimming rear-view mirror.
The interior is enhanced with carpet floor covering rather than vinyl. There is USB charging and privacy glass for the rear compartment.
The ST-X – from $62,690
The ST-X’s drivetrain capability is boosted by Super 4WD, featuring a Torsen limited-slip centre differential, seven selectable terrain modes – normal, eco, gravel, snow, mud, sand and rock, and hill-descent control.
There are 18-inch gun-metal grey alloys with step machining, body-colour front-bumper lower lip, silver-painted grille inserts, side steps, power-folding exterior mirrors with chrome finish and integrated indicators.
Inside, there are leather-accented seats with power adjustment for the driver, heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, push-button engine start with intelligent key, and a wireless smartphone charger.
The standard nine-inch advanced infotainment system features DAB digital radio, Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay connectivity.
The PRO-4X – from $67,690
The range-topping variant’s styling includes a unique front grille surround with lava red-orange insert, 17-inch matt black alloys fitted with 265/65R17 all-terrain, wheel-arch moulding with lava red-orange accents, black roof rails, and a “NAVARA” tailgate badge in black with red accenting.
The cabin has leather-accented seats with orange stitch and suede bolster, leather-accented steering wheel with orange stitch, a PRO-4X logo on the front seatbacks, black inner-door handles, and lava red-orange accents across the front console and door trim.
Suspension & colours
The new Navara has an available suspension system developed, tested and tuned by Melbourne-based Premcar for regional conditions and customer requirements.
The extensive engineering programme saw the ute driven more than 18,000km across every conceivable surface and driving condition – from corrugated roads to urban stop-start traffic with heavy loads.
Up to eight exterior colours are available across the range with three standard colours – alpine white, midnight black, outback red.
Five premium colours attract a $500 surcharge. These are blizzard white, summit silver, boulder grey, horizon blue and kimberley orange. Colour availability varies by grade. Blue is available on ST-X and PRO-4X only, while orange is exclusive to ST-X.
The new Navara comes with a five-year or 150,000km warranty and up to five years of 24-hour roadside assistance.
