Marque extends hybrid range
MG Motor New Zealand has announced the expansion of its hybrid range with the all-new MG ZS Hybrid+ now available at dealers across the country.
The model features a 75kW 1.5-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine with a 100kW/250Nm electric motor, paired with a 1.83kWh battery and a three-speed automatic transmission.
The combined output produces 158kW of power and delivers a combined WLTP fuel consumption of 5.2l/100km.
Advanced driver assistance systems on the car include autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, lane change assist, intelligent cruise assist, rear cross traffic alert, forward collision warning, blind spot detection, and intelligent speed limit assist.
The ZS Hybrid+ boosts the marque’s New Zealand line-up and comes soon after the MG3 Hybrid+ was released here.
Peter Ciao, MG Motor Australia and NZ chief executive officer, says it is an exciting time for its New Zealand operations as the company continues to update and grow its model range.
“After our MG3 Hybrid+ launch earlier this year, MG is pursuing its strategy of bringing value-packed innovative hybrid technology across its entire range with the ZS,” he explains.
“This full hybrid engine provides a smooth electric drive and ensures driving range is maximised in all circumstances, with direct and instantaneous acceleration.
“Thanks to this combination, the new ZS demonstrates maximum versatility and adapts to all urban and road uses.”
Harrie Yan, MG Motor NZ chief operating officer, adds: “A major benefit of our expanding Hybrid+ range of vehicles is that they promise impressive fuel economy without the environmental concerns of pure combustion power.”
Available in two variants, the ZS Hybrid+ Excite is priced from $36,990+ORC and the ZS Hybrid+ Essence from $39,990+ORC.
