Guests celebrated Volkswagen’s achievements at Shed 10 in Auckland

Gazley Volkswagen in Wellington scooped four gongs, including the top overall prize, when the honours were handed out at Volkswagen’s 2022 Dealer of the Year awards.

Besides being crowned dealer of the year, the company also had wins in the commercial service department, commercial customer experience excellence and passenger dealer categories.

Other big winners included Farmer Volkswagen in Tauranga and Ebbett Volkswagen in Hamilton, which both collected three awards, while Continental Cars Volkswagen in Auckland took out two sections.

Volkswagen New Zealand says the annual prizegiving, which was held this month at Shed 10 in Auckland, aims to recognise and reward excellence across its dealer network.

The awards celebrate achievements at every level of operations, including parts, service, passenger sales, commercial sales and marketing.

Greg Leet, general manager of Volkswagen passenger, says representatives from 21 Volkswagen dealerships attended this year’s event along with staff from European Motor Distributors and Volkswagen NZ.

“It is a privilege to see the passion that our dealer network has for the Volkswagen brand,” he adds.

“Our dealer teams ultimately deliver the Volkswagen experience to our customers every day so this event is about recognising their efforts and the moments they have gone above and beyond for our customers.”

Besides prizes being dished out, guests were also treated to a performance by singer, actor and TV star Stan Walker, who is a Volkswagen brand ambassador.

Kevin Richards, general manager of Volkswagen commercial vehicles, says: “After a challenging 2022 for a number of reasons, it’s fantastic to get the best dealer network in the business together and celebrate their achievements over the past year.

“It also provides a brilliant platform to look ahead at the many great things planned in 2023 and beyond. Seeing the quality of the team distilled into one room shows that we are set for success.”
