Marque bolsters EV infrastructure

BMW New Zealand has announced it now has more than 100 public electric vehicle (EV) chargers installed across New Zealand.

The company says passing the milestone in its destination charging programme is part of a commitment to help increase the availability of infrastructure for EV drivers.

BMW has established partnerships with select venues nationwide to install Generation 3 BMW Wallbox chargers, which cater for the marque’s customers and owners of vehicles compatible with the charging hardware.

Its chargers can be found in 42 locations, including luxury hotels, motels, lodges, golf resorts and restaurants.

These venues were chosen because drivers typically spend about an hour on-site, providing sufficient time to top-up or fully charge their EVs.

BMW NZ currently offers 15 EV variants across seven model lines in its portfolio, with the BMW iX3 leading the way in sales this year with 40 registrations.
