Mitsubishi Motors New Zealand (MMNZ) has announced an expanded partnership with one of the country’s leading automotive businesses.

The Colonial Motor Company will run a solus dealership as Manukau Autos from April 1. It currently operates franchises for the marque in Queenstown and Wanaka.

The latest to join MMNZ’s 60-strong dealer network, Manukau Autos replaces current representative – Auckland Motors – and will operate from Barkerfield Place, previously Southern Autos. It will offer sales, parts and servicing.

Tony Johnston, pictured, MMNZ’s chief operating officer, says: “We are genuinely excited to expand our relationship with such a respected and experienced operator as The Colonial Motor Company.

“This Kiwi-owned company has a proven reputation in our industry. We are confident Jason and his team will go above and beyond in delivering the high level of customer service we demand from our dealers.”

Jason Robb, dealer principal, adds: “It’s clear MMNZ is truly passionate about the brand – an essential quality that will flow through our entire team. Customers in Manukau can expect great things from us.”

Mitsubishi’s range includes four of the top 10 vehicles sold in New Zealand in 2024, which Johnston says has as much to do with customer care provided by dealers as it does with the quality and value of the vehicles.

“We pride ourselves in not only offering an excellent range, but also in the care and expertise that our dealership teams provide,” he adds.

“We recognise the quality of relationships our customers receive on the ground is critical to our ongoing relationship with them as a brand, which is why we will only partner with the very best representatives and CMC is one of the best.”
