Kiwi drivers Nick Cassidy and Mitch Evans have their eyes set on taking out the top two spots of the Formula E drivers’ standings as they prepare for the final four races of the season.

The Jaguar TCS Racing teammates are currently first and third in the championship ahead of a double-header in Portland, United States, this weekend. The two races take place on Sunday and Monday, NZ time.

Cassidy, pictured, currently tops the standings with 167 points and is keen to maintain his position by delivering a repeat of his win in last year’s inaugural Portland E-Prix.

Evans is third on 132 points and behind Tag Heuer Porsche’s German driver Pascal Wherlein, who currently sits between the New Zealand pair.

The efforts of Cassidy and Evans have also given Jaguar TCS Racing a commanding position in the race for the teams’ title and they sit on 299 points, with Tag Heuer Porsche next on 226.

The previous round of action was in Shanghai where Evans won the opening race and came fifth in the second, while Cassidy collected a third and fourth-place finish.

Cassidy says China was a positive race weekend after he secured strong results and his eighth podium of the season.

“It will be great to be back in Portland after topping the podium last season,” he adds. “I have hopes of achieving the same result this year and I’m confident we can hold my position in the standings and work with the team to extend our lead.”
