Kia NZ appoint new sales and marketing GM
Kia Motors New Zealand has tasked Greg MacDonald with helping the company build on a record year of sales after appointing him sales and marketing general manager.
MacDonald steps into the role having spent the past 12 months driving the company’s promotions and brand awareness since joining from Fiat Chrysler NZ.
Kia topped 7,000 in annual sales for the first time in 2019 following eight years of continued growth. It hopes the recently introduced new Kia Seltos compact SUV and ongoing demand for the Kia Sportage mid-size SUV will produce another successful year.
MacDonald, pictured, says although the new vehicle market in New Zealand is facing headwinds, he is confident the Kia model range and dealer network will drive the brand forward.
“We have one of the most exciting product line-ups in the market and Kia is most definitely on an upward trajectory,” he explains.
MacDonald has focused on marketing in recent times but is no stranger to sales, having spent many years in that role with other motoring companies. “I’ve probably had more years in sales than in marketing, so I’ll be able to draw on that experience with this new role,” he says.
Todd McDonald, managing director of Kia Motors New Zealand, says MacDonald has impressed since he joined the company.
