Growth for commercials
There were 3,368 new commercials registered last month, an increase of 5.3 per cent when compared with 3,197 in November 2024.
Ford’s Ranger, pictured, was the best-selling model in November with 1,030 units, up 26.5 per cent from the 814 units sold in the same month a year ago.
Next was the Toyota Hilux on 621 registrations, a year-on-year increase of 12.9 per from 550, and Mitsubishi’s Triton was third with 203 sales.
Two vans completed the top five with the Toyota Hiace on 183 and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, pictured, on 155.
The Ranger leads the year-to-date standings with 8,892 registrations and a 24 per cent share of the market.
In second place is the Hilux on 7,846 and 21.2 per cent, and the Triton is third on 2,994 units and 8.1 per cent.
The market’s overall year-to-date total stands at 37,006 units.
On the marques’ ladder, Ford was top in November with 1,173 registrations, up 28.2 per cent from 915 a year ago, and a market share of 34.8 per cent.
Toyota was next on 814 units, rising 18.8 per cent from 685 in November 2024, and Mitsubishi was third on 203.
Toyota is top of the year-to-date charts with 10,158 registrations and a market share of 27.4 per cent. Ford is second with 10,121 and 27.3 per cent and Mitsubishi completes the top three on 2,995 and 8.1 per cent.
Used market down
As for used-imported commercials, the 367 units registered in November was down 20.6 per cent from 462 in the same month last year. This brings the year-to-date total to 3,820.
Toyota’s Hiace was the leading model last month on 114 registrations and a market share of 31.1 per cent.
Fiat’s Ducato was next with 24 registrations and the Ford Ranger took out third spot on 20.
Year to date, the Hiace has completed 1,167 sales for a 30.5 per cent market share, and Nissan’s NV350 is second on 242 units and 6.3 per cent.
Toyota was the top marque last month with 145 registrations, a 31.6 per cent decrease from 212 a year ago.
Next was Nissan with 63, Ford on 27, Fiat with 25 and Hino on 22.
Year to date, Toyota has 1,584 registrations and a 41.5 per cent market share. Nissan is next on 748 and 19.6 per cent, with Hino third on 251 and 6.6 per cent.
