GR line-up prices revealed

Toyota has revealed the pricing for its 2025 model year high-performance Gazoo Racing (GR) sports cars.

The GR Yaris, GR Corolla and special-edition GR86 Hakone were launched at a track -day event at Hampton Downs Motorsport Park at the weekend.

“The TGR range continues to set benchmarks in performance, engineering and design,” says Andrew Davis, chief strategy officer of Toyota NZ and responsible for Toyota Gazoo Racing.

“These updates showcase our dedication to creating cars that excite and connect drivers to the road. With enhanced powertrains, refined dynamics and new features, the 2025 GR line-up is built for real motoring enthusiasts.”

Starting from $61,990, the upgraded 2025 GR Yaris features an uprated three-cylinder engine delivering an additional 21kW of power and 30Nm of torque.

New this year is the option of an eight-speed direct-shift automatic transmission, which joins the six-speed intelligent manual variant. Enhanced cooling systems, a redesigned front bumper and improved suspension elevate its performance.

Inside, the GR Yaris boasts a lowered driving position, a 12.3-inch full-colour meter and driver-orientated instrumentation.

The 2025 GR Corolla with automatic transmission is priced from $65,990. Its award-winning three-cylinder engine gains an 30Nm of torque. The eight-speed direct-shift automatic transmission option enhances drivability. There are also new cooling features and suspension upgrades.

The GR86 Hakone Edition is limited to an exclusive number of units in New Zealand and is priced at $61,990. Powered by a 2.4-litre rear-wheel-drive powertrain, it’s available with a six-speed manual and six-speed automatic transmission.

Paying homage to its motorsport roots with a ridge-green exterior, bronze-painted alloys, and premium ultrasuede and leather interior accents, the Hakone “blends heritage with modern performance”.

“TGR is an important component of our offering here in New Zealand,” says Davis. “We have a successful motorsport programme and our GR production cars are released in limited numbers.

“They are designed for real enthusiasts to have a single vehicle that’s fun and challenging to drive, as well as serving as a daily driver.

“The GR development philosophy is also about pushing the limits for better. Our mission is to build ever better cars that put a smile on every driver’s face.”
