Good month for new car imports
The total number of new car imports for June was 10,263 - second only to May's record total this year.

It was also a bumper month for importations of new cars, with a total of 10,263 new car imports recorded for June. This was second to only 12,273 in May this year.
Despite this, new car imports did fall by 2.1 per cent compared to June 2017.
So far year-to-date, 58,932 new cars have crossed the border, which is up by 4,888 units compared to by the same time last year – an increase of 9.04 per cent.
There were 4,098 new passenger vehicles imported from Japan during June for its second biggest month of the year, 1,436 from Korea, 1,377 from Thailand, 935 from Germany and 412 from the US.
