Glimpses into future

Lexus has unveiled concept vehicles at the Japan Mobility Show spanning land, sea and air.

From the LS family of chauffeur-focused luxury vehicles to the Sport Concept and Catamaran, the marque says each demonstrates its commitment to redefining how people move and live.

“This is an exciting moment for Lexus globally and our customers in New Zealand,” says Andrew Davis, vice-president of Lexus NZ.

“New designs, new in-car experiences and an even higher level of sustainable craftsmanship make for an exciting time. To see these visionary concepts revealed in Tokyo was something truly special.” Revealed were the:

• LS Concept – a chauffeur-driven car with a six small-wheel format for greater internal space, “envisioned from VIP-centric space and use scenarios”.

• LS Coupe Concept – “balances a sporty, sleek exterior with a spacious interior” where each occupant can enjoy their own experience.

• LS Micro Concept – a fully autonomous micro-mobility vehicle offering privacy and comfort in “an elegant, compact design”.

• Sport Concept – a next-generation sports car with a low, wide profile and “immersive” cockpit.

• Catamaran Concept – a private “luxury space” on water powered by solar-panel sails.

Each concept demonstrates how Lexus is transforming mobility into a lifestyle by “blending technology, design and emotion in ways that go beyond a car”.

Davis says: “With more than 80 per cent of all Lexus vehicles sold in New Zealand now electrified, we’re focused on offering sustainable options without compromising on luxury, design or driving pleasure.

“There is a commitment to delivering more choice, quality and innovation – from vehicles designed for everyday enjoyment to the most refined luxury experiences.”
