Full-circle moment for Ford executive

Ford Australia and New Zealand has appointed Murray Naismith as its new chief financial officer.

He has nearly three decades of finance and operational experience across the automotive industry, including with original equipment manufacturers, distributors, dealerships and remarketing.

This has included nearly seven years at Cox Automotive Australia, five years with Borneo Motors Singapore, and six years at Inchcape Australia.

Naismith, pictured, also spent eight years as finance manager for Ford Australia from 1998 to 2006.

He says his career has given him a broad perspective on the sector and he is looking forward to helping shape Ford’s next chapter across Australia and New Zealand.

“Today, both Ford and the automotive industry are at a pivotal point, transforming at the fastest pace in history,” he adds.

“Ford Australia has helped shape the automotive landscape for more than a century and, with its distinctive product portfolio, passionate customer base and talented people, is well placed to lead into the future.

“This appointment is also a special full-circle moment for me. I am returning to Ford after 20 years, having spent eight formative years here earlier in my career.”

He adds it has been “wonderful” to reconnect with a number of familiar faces and meet new people through his induction to the business.

Naismith succeeds Tinikki Mott as chief financial officer after she spent a year in the role and has left to spend more time with her family.
