Free expo on EVs

A free two-day free event is taking place at Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre over the first weekend of November so people can get up close and personal with electric cars.
Organisers say the Take Charge Expo will showcase the “latest and greatest” in battery electric vehicles, and the public will have a chance to see first-hand technology that’s available in cars, vans and utes.
Models on display will include the BYD Atto 3, Dolphin, Seal and Sealion 7, Farizon’s SuperVan, the Fiat 500e, Geely EX5 and Riddara RD6, Honda e:N1, MG4, MG S5 EV, the Mini Aceman and Countryman, Nissan’s Ariya, the Volkswagen I.D. Buzz Pro, and Zeekr’s X and 7X.
Staff from Z Energy will be there with information about its public-charging network and prizes will be available courtesy of some of the exhibitors.
Kevin Crutchley, director of Take Charge Events Ltd, says: “The Take Charge Expo is free to attend to encourage anyone with an interest in battery electric vehicles to come along and see first-hand the range of technology on display and ask questions of the expert exhibitors.”
The event is open on November 1 from 10am-5pm and November 2 from 9am-4pm. People can enter the convention centre via its Cathedral Square entrance. Go to ccc.govt.nz/takecharge for more details.
